Taiwanese stainless steel market was captured by the Indonesian Tsingshan Holding Group. Taiwan Steel & Iron Industries Association pointed out that it was a long-term solution for Taiwanese stainless steel plants to be combined only to set up factories in the nickel mining area and then return to Taiwan according to the shareholding ratio.
At present, the world's major countries were striving to protect their domestic steel industry. If Tsingshan's cheap source could not be banned, only semi-finished slab should be allowed to import.
The government should continue to open stainless steel imports from China to reduce dependence on Tsingshan's materials, and it could reduce the influence of Indonesian Tsingshan on Taiwanese stainless steel industry.
